<Question 1>

I'm sorry to say I have passed this response around 2 other Automotive EMC engineers here and we still can't see why it doesn't fail.

<Answer 1>

This technology is a new control technology for automobile and belongs to systems technology. Even though VAD is connected with TPS, it stablizes the whole control system of automobile.  Therefore it is dangerous for you to understand the VAD's technology partially.  For example, sometimes we inject directly patient's veins, or sometimes we inject under the skin.

There are two ways in improving the fuel efficiency and the exhauset fumes(emission gas).

One is the external process system that is popular in the world.  This system is to clean up the emission gas that comes out through the exhaust pipe after the fuel explosion.  It is a kind of dust collector of factory.

The other one is the internal process system that Motor Power Co., Ltd.(VAD producer) developed.  This system stabilizeds the unstable factors systemically such as engine starting, explosion, output of power, pushing out, and ect.

<Question 2>

The concern is that when the VAD increases the voltage on the white cable (we have red supply and white signal on the sample we have) which connects to the variable TPS line, then without any actual change in the variable TPS voltage the VAD over-voltage (increase from 100mV to 800mV) would effectively increase the throttle speed.

So our understanding is if we were travelling in the car with the throttle in the middle position and very stable the VAD output voltage would be stable, but when interference is present the throttle remains at mid point but the VAD is going to increase the voltage from 100mV to 800mV and hence this must have an effect on the vehicle as it will change the throttle position as the ECU see it.

<Answer 2>

Throttle body is composed of the throttle valve that controls the airspace, and the ISC motor that controls the idling rotation, and the TPS(throttle position sensor) that changes the electric file according to the opening status of throttle valve, and etc.

Here, I would like to explain the relationship between throttle valve and TPS ;

Throttle valve is designed to change the electric resistance according to the opening angle of throttle valve.  The ratio of the opening angle of throttle valve and the TPS output signal has 45° degree.  The following graph shows the TPS output of a special quality.

Therefore, as far as TPS has no defect, it does not allow to become 0° valve degree or 0V TPS signal in the closed status of idle.  Also it does not allow to become 90° valve degree or 5V TPS signal of idle

In this respect, whenever the driver pushes and stops to push the accelerator, the idle repeats the change of valve degree between 0° and 90°, and the change of TPS signal between 0V and 5V.  If this signal enters into ECU as an analogue signal, it becomes perfect digital signal and the control signal.

However, by the formula V(Voltage) = I(Current) × R(Resistor),   TPS output signal in low resistance is weak.  So we found that it can not make the digital signal as the design requires if this signal enters into ECU.

Even though VAD's output signal compensates the low TPS output signal, VAD's maximum output signal is designed not to exceed 1V/1mA.  Therefore, VAD can not effect on the vehicle as it will change the throttle position as the ECU see it.

 Following date shows how TPS output signal changes when TPS resistance is 5§Ú/ TPS 5V(when ECU supplies).

<Question 3>

We are still struggling to understand this product and of what benefit it will be in real life as it would seem to be limiting the speed of the vehicle by adjusting the throttle to achieve a lower vehicle emissions limits which could be achieved by the driver himself just slowing down a bit and using the throttle less

<Answer 3>

All machinary products have ability(function) and performance.  Performance has the following formula;

             Performance(100%) = Efficiency(%) + Loss(%)

Our VAD focuses on the performance that prevents the engine off due to the unrest control driving, and no starting engine, and RPM drift.  These performances stabilze the voltage change, and improve the noise, the generating power, the vibration, the engine knocks, the accelerating force a moment, the going up capacity, the idling rotation, and etc.  In this regard, our VAD makes to improve the fuel efficiency and to reduce the emission gas.

In conclusion, our VAD compensates and stabilizes the control signal, and strengthens the control ability.  This ability reduces or minimizes the losses that come out in the process that the mechanical equipments or electric equipments operate. This means that VAD maximizes the efficiency of each mechanical equipments or electric equipments.  Therefore VAD reduces the fuel consumption and reduces emission gas.

This is the basic theory of "internal process system" for the reduction of emission gas.
